Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Picker to join our warehouse team. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately selecting and preparing goods for dispatch, ensuring efficient warehouse operations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with warehouse experience and a strong work ethic to contribute to a dynamic logistics environment.

Responsibilities

Efficiently locate and select items from storage areas in accordance with order specifications
Utilise warehouse management systems to track inventory and update order statuses
Operate forklifts and other mechanical handling equipment safely to load and unload goods
Pack items securely for shipping, ensuring quality control standards are met
Stock shelves and organise inventory to optimise space utilisation and accessibility
Assist with shipping & receiving activities, including verifying incoming shipments and preparing outgoing consignments
Conduct regular stock checks and report discrepancies or damages promptly
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment in compliance with health and safety regulations

Requirements

Proven experience in warehouse operations, including picking & packing, stocking, and material handling
Knowledge of forklift operation and mechanical systems is highly desirable
Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is advantageous
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently throughout the shift
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail for quality control purposes
Physical stamina to stand, walk, load, and unload for extended periods
Mechanical knowledge beneficial for troubleshooting equipment issues
Prior experience in shipping & receiving processes preferred

Pay: £14.21-£25.85 per hour
