Rapid Improvement believes that good homes make for better lives.

Through Rapid Improvement, we offer a wide range of care and support services to older and vulnerable adults living in south London, but we specialise in providing

care for those experiencing dementia or with complex needs.

We provide housing with different levels of care and support, floating support and outreach services, and day care and activity centers. Flexibility is a key part of all of our care and support services, as our focus is on the individual—helping people to stay as active and independent as possible.

Responsibilities:

1. To lead and manage the onsite staff team to deliver a reliable, responsive, and respectful person-centered care and support service to all residents and service users in line with Rapid Improvement’s expectations

2. To be registered as the manager with Care Quality Care Commission (CQC) and ensure that the service meets their published standards at all times

3. To lead on, the development of the service and manage associated projects

4. To lead on, need and risk assessments involving residents and important others to produce robust care and support plans that staff follow to deliver agreed-upon outcomes

5. Ensure residents are enabled to maximise their potential as individuals, and are able to make choices and feel in control of the services they receive

6. To make sure the scheme is safe, secure, and clean and to ensure all reasonable means to safeguard service users are implemented and alerts arise regarding any concerns.

7. Ensure that appropriate and accurate resident records are maintained that are accessible to residents and information is protected in line with our Data Protection policy

8. Accessing and developing opportunities for regular activity and inclusion to promote health and well-being for tenants and the wider local community

9. Negotiate, consult and liaise with Social Services Managers, day care, fieldwork, health authority, voluntary organisation and other professionals to support residents, the service and integration with other local services & professionals.

10. Responsible for the budget management for the scheme and residents

11. To lead on, the investigation into any complaints/safeguarding incidents that may be raised

12. Part of the management team of Care Services, undertaking such duties as delegated by the Care Services Manager

13. Produce and analyse regulatory monitoring statistics for the organisation’s extra care schemes and present these to the local authorities

14. Manage, support, and develop the staff team by inducting, coaching, training, appraising, and providing support in line with Investors in People standards.

15. Ensure effective communication with staff through regular one-to-ones and team meetings.

16. Responsible for recruitment of staff and involvement in recruitment for other care units.

17. Ensure adequate staff resourcing to deliver services at all times and cover in the absence of other staff as necessary

Qualifications:

Good standard of general education, preferably including GCSEs in Maths and English (or comparable)

Social Care, or Health related qualification

Recognisable qualification in Leadership & Management or equivalent or ability to complete (including QCF or RQF (level 5)

Other:

You will be required to work early morning, late evening, weekends and bank holidays to be able at times to ensure you effectively manage the team.

This role provides regulated activities under the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). Therefore, post holders are required to undertake a regular DBS check to ensure anyone who presents a known risk is prevented from working with vulnerable people.

Pay: £35000- £45000 per year
