Full job description

We require full time Support Workers and Team Leaders for our children’s residential home for learning disabilities providing personalized care, nurturing, and behavioural support to young people, promoting independence and safety. Key duties include assisting with daily routines, personal care, education, community activities, and maintaining detailed records while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Direct Care & Support: Provide individualized physical, emotional, and personal care to children with learning disabilities.
Behavioural Support: Implement Behaviour Support Plans to manage, de-escalate, and support children experiencing emotional or behavioural difficulties.
Independence Development: Teach life skills such as cooking, budgeting, cleaning, and shopping to prepare them life transitions
Safety & Welfare: Ensure a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment, adhering strictly to Safeguarding and Ofsted regulations.
Education & Activities: Support attendance at education/schooling, and organize fun, recreational community activities.
Record Keeping & Reporting: Maintain accurate, up-to-date logs, care plans, and incident reports.
Communication: Work closely with the staff team, families, social workers, and health professionals.
Shift Work: Participate in a rota covering waking nights, day shift, weekends and bank holidays - flexibility is required

Key Requirements

Experience: Previous experience working with children with learning disabilities or challenging behaviour
Qualifications: A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare is required, or a willingness to work towards it.
Attributes: Patience, resilience, creativity, and a compassionate approach.
