Job Types: Permanent, Full-time Monday to Friday

Working hours: 40 hours working week

Salary: £33,000

This role is for a Room Leader for our Pre-School Room.

OVERALL JOB ROLE

To deliver and ensure a high standard of learning, development and care for pre-school aged children.
To manage the day to day running of the room
To ensure that the rooms are a safe environment for children, staff and others
To develop partnerships with parents/carers to increase involvement in their child’s development
To manage your team (3 members of staff)

DUTIES

To ensure responsibility for the effective daily running of the pre-school room
To have a sound knowledge of company policies, procedures and expectations
To act as an excellent role model to the staff team, being able to showcase high-quality practice in all areas
To take responsibility for excellent hygiene, health and safety and security practice within the nursery
To work cooperatively with the manager, deputy and other room managers
To support and lead your room team in planning and providing appropriate daily activities in line with guidance from the EYFS
To uphold the highest level of safeguarding practice and ensure company policies and procedures are adhered to at all times
To manage and supervise observation, assessment and planning in your room, ensuring all children are making progress
To work with outside professionals where required
To work closely with parents and create trusting relationships with all families

QUALIFICATIONS (ESSENTIAL)

Minimum of Level 3 in early years or equivalent
Experience in working with pre-school aged children
Knowledge of the Early Years Sector
Good standard of English and Maths at GCSE A-C or equivalent
Pedatric first Aid Certificate (if qualification was received after 2016)

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS (ESSENTIAL)

2 years or more experience working in a nursery or similar environment
2 years or more experience as a Pre-school room leader
Experience of being a key person
Excellent working knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage and current Ofsted framework

PERSONAL STYLE AND BEHAVIOUR

Excellent verbal communication skills with staff, children and parents
Able to use written English to write reports and keep clear and accurate records
Basic administrative and IT skills
Effective leadership skills
Ability to work as part of a team
Ability to work under pressure
Able to work on own initiative
Calm and caring nature
Empathy and understanding of children under 5
Reliable
Enthusiastic
Flexible

OTHER USEFUL SKILLS (DESIRABLE)

Paediatric first aid
