Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter / Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment. This role is vital in ensuring smooth kitchen operations and assisting with food preparation and service. The ideal candidate will be proactive, reliable, and eager to develop their skills within the hospitality industry. All positions are paid, and previous experience in a restaurant or hotel setting is advantageous but not essential. Tips are paid weekly via a Tronk plan.

Duties

Assist with basic food preparation tasks under supervision, including washing vegetables and preparing ingredients
Support chefs with cooking and plating when required
Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas, including washing dishes, utensils, pots, and pans
Ensure all work surfaces are hygienic and sanitised according to health standards
Organise storage areas for ingredients and equipment to ensure easy access
Dispose of waste responsibly and ensure recycling procedures are followed
Support the team during busy service periods by ensuring smooth flow of kitchen operations
Follow health and safety regulations at all times to maintain a safe working environment

Skills

Experience or familiarity with food preparation, cooking, or working within a restaurant or hotel environment is desirable
Knowledge of kitchen safety and hygiene standards
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment under supervision
Good organisational skills with attention to detail
Reliable team player with excellent communication skills
Willingness to learn new skills related to culinary arts and hospitality industry standards

This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain experience in the hospitality sector while contributing to a dynamic team. Prior experience in culinary settings such as restaurants, hotels, or catering services will be considered an asset.

Pay: £12.21-£12.71 per hour
