Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Care Assistant to join our team within a reputable care home. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities and a genuine passion for providing high-quality care to our residents. This role involves supervising care staff, developing and implementing care plans, and ensuring the wellbeing of all residents. The Senior Care Assistant will play a vital part in fostering a warm, safe, and supportive environment for our residents, promoting independence and dignity at all times.

Responsibilities

Supervise and support care staff to deliver exceptional person-centred care
Assist in the development, review, and implementation of personalised care plans in collaboration with residents and their families
Provide direct care to residents, including assistance with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility
Monitor residents’ health and wellbeing, reporting any concerns to healthcare professionals promptly
Lead by example in maintaining high standards of hygiene, safety, and compliance with care regulations
Organise and oversee activities that promote social engagement and mental stimulation among residents
Ensure effective communication within the team and with external healthcare providers
Assist with training new staff members and supervise junior team members as required
Maintain accurate documentation of care provided using IT systems

Qualifications

Previous experience working in a care home specialising in senior or elderly care
Supervising or leadership experience within a healthcare setting is highly desirable
Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams
Ability to develop and manage care plans tailored to individual needs
Good IT skills for maintaining accurate records and documentation
Compassionate approach with a genuine interest in senior care and promoting independence
