Full job description

We have an exciting opportunity to join our small, friendly team at Old Boot Sofas in Matlock.

We’re a proudly independent company with a passion for beautifully made furniture and exceptional service. We’re looking for someone to join us in our central Matlock showroom to help customers find their perfect sofa, armchair, or footstool - whether they walk in or contact us online. This role is part time and will include one weekend day, with additional days occasionally required to help cover holidays or absences. Hours offered are between 21 and 28.5.

You’ll be working with a thoughtful, creative team that takes real pride in what we do -offering handmade British furniture that people truly fall in love with. You’ll get full training in everything you need to know, including our leathers, fabrics, and materials, and you’ll quickly become an expert in helping people find the right piece for their home.Key responsibilities

Supporting customers in the showroom and via phone, email, and social media
Taking appointments in person and via video call from our Matlock showroom
Advising customers on materials, leathers, design options and finishes
Keeping the showroom looking beautiful, clean and welcoming
Accurately processing customer orders using our internal systems
Helping with updates and queries throughout the order and delivery process
Collaborating with the wider team to solve problems and offer support
Assisting with online sales and basic admin tasks

What we’re looking for

Experience
We don’t require previous retail experience. What matters most is your personality and approach. However, experience in sales, hospitality, customer service, interiors or other people-facing roles may be beneficial.

Please note this is a part time role for 21 or 28.5 hours per week including one weekend day. The salary starts from £14,196.00 or £19,266 (pro rota) with the addition of a team bonus scheme which comes in effect after a successful probationary period.
