Job Introduction

Medway Council are recruiting a Finance Business Support Officer on a fixed term contract (24 months) to support the financial administration and monitoring of the Kinship Allowance Pilot, which provides targeted financial support to kinship carers.

The role will support accurate processing, monitoring and reconciliation of kinship allowance payments, ensuring compliance with funding conditions and council financial procedures.

Working closely with the Kinship Allowance Pilot Team and Finance colleagues, you will play a key role in ensuring effective financial control and robust reporting throughout the life of the pilot.

About you

A minimum of 5 GCSE’s including English and Maths (grades 4-9) or equivalent
Experience of financial or administrative support work
Good IT skills, including spreadsheets and financial systems
Ability to accurately monitor, record and reconcile financial data
