Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Night Care Assistant to provide high-quality care during overnight hours in a care home setting. The successful candidate will support residents' needs, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being throughout the night. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of residents while working in a supportive environment.

Duties

Monitor residents' conditions overnight, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times
Assist residents with personal care tasks as required, respecting their dignity and privacy
Respond promptly to any calls or emergencies during the night shift
Maintain accurate records of residents' wellbeing and any incidents that occur during your shift
Support residents with mobility and repositioning to prevent pressure sores
Follow care plans diligently, ensuring all individual needs are met according to prescribed guidelines
Liaise with day staff during handovers to ensure continuity of care
Adhere to health and safety policies, including infection control procedures
Keep the environment clean, safe, and comfortable for residents

Requirements

Previous experience working within a care home or home care environment is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
Good communication skills in English, with the ability to listen attentively and respond compassionately
Basic IT skills for maintaining accurate records and completing documentation electronically
Strong organisational skills and the ability to follow detailed care plans accurately
Ability to work independently during night shifts while maintaining high standards of care
Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to support vulnerable individuals during overnight hours

Pay: £13.45 per hour
