HELP US BUILD SOMETHING SPECIAL

A brand-new food destination is coming to Northumberland, and we’re looking for the right person to help shape it from the very beginning.

Taste of Northumberland is transforming the former Trap Inn in Broomhill into a fresh, welcoming hospitality venue focused on:

◆ Incredible local produce
◆ Quality food done properly
◆ Great drinks and atmosphere
◆ Hospitality with personality
◆ Community pride and local identity

This is not a huge corporate kitchen.

This is a smaller kitchen with BIG ambition.

We are looking for a passionate, creative and driven Lead Chef who wants the opportunity to develop, grow and make their mark within an exciting new independent business.

This role would perfectly suit:
▪ An experienced Sous Chef ready for their first leadership opportunity
▪ A current kitchen lead wanting more creativity and ownership
▪ An ambitious chef looking to help build a brand from launch

This is more than simply running a kitchen.

◆ Help create the food identity of a brand-new venue
◆ Design and develop a stunning Northumberland-inspired menu
◆ Work with quality local suppliers and seasonal produce
◆ Build and develop your own kitchen team
◆ Grow alongside an expanding independent business

► WORKING ALONGSIDE MANAGEMENT

As Lead Chef, you will work closely with the wider management team to help drive the success of Taste of Northumberland.

This is a collaborative role where your ideas, input and leadership will genuinely help shape the direction of the business.

You will play an important role in:

◆ Supporting operational and financial targets
◆ Developing food standards and customer experience
◆ Building a positive team culture
◆ Strengthening relationships with local suppliers
◆ Helping establish Taste of Northumberland as a respected local destination

We are looking for someone who understands that great hospitality is built through teamwork, communication, consistency and pride in what we deliver.

► WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

KITCHEN LEADERSHIP

▪ Leading day-to-day kitchen operations
▪ Maintaining high standards during service
▪ Helping create a calm, organised and positive kitchen culture
▪ Supporting and developing junior kitchen staff

MENU DEVELOPMENT

▪ Creating fresh, exciting dishes
▪ Developing menus that champion Northumberland produce
▪ Working with management to shape the overall food vision
▪ Bringing creativity and seasonal ideas to the business and creating menus for events and special occasions

STANDARDS & OPERATIONS

▪ Managing stock, ordering and waste control
▪ Maintaining excellent food hygiene and safety standards
▪ Supporting GP and cost management
▪ Ensuring consistency, presentation and quality at all times

► SALARY & BENEFITS

◆ £28,000 – £33,000 depending on experience, creativity and leadership ability
◆ 40-hour salaried role
