Full job description

Position: PSV/HGV Mechanic

Location: Basildon Depot, SS16 5AG

Contracted Hours: 39 per week (permanent + overtime available)

Shifts: 4 days out of 7 (including weekends) on a rotation of early shifts 05:00-15:00 and late shifts 14:00-00:00

Pay Rate: £24.37 per hour and £25.42 as the weekend premium hourly rate

Salary: £49,422 per annum with the potential to earn around £4000 extra with weekend premium

About the Role - *£2000 NEW RECRUIT JOINING BONUS!!!

We are now looking for an NVQ/SVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) qualified PSV/HGV Mechanic for our First Bus Basildon Depot – PSV or HGV mechanical experience is great however we love to hear from ex-Forces personnel with an engineering apprenticeship qualification, and experienced engineers from other sectors looking for a change.

Basildon is now Essex's first fully electric bus depot, housing innovative technology and state-of-the-art vehicles!

We offer technical up-skilling and career progression; your PPE is provided as well as a competitive hourly rate and great rewards & benefits (see below).

Key Responsibilities:

Diagnose and carry out vehicle repairs, servicing, and parts replacement
Diagnose vehicle faults and specify the correct method of repair and parts to be used
Carry out vehicle servicing and routine vehicle examinations using handheld data capture devices if applicable
Attend on-road vehicle breakdowns and recoveries where required
Carry out vehicle road testing where necessary to identify specific vehicle defects or following remedial repair

About You

Do you have a minimum Level 3 NVQ/SVQ (or City & Guilds equivalent) qualification in vehicle maintenance and repair – PSV/HGV preferred
Do you have a flexible approach to work with the ability to multi skill?
Are you a UK driving license holder? A PCV license is desirable however we can help you achieve this
