Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organised Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team at Barton Surgery. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing essential administrative support while ensuring a welcoming environment. This role requires excellent communication skills and a strong attention to detail, as you will be responsible for managing patient appointments, handling inquiries, and maintaining accurate records.

Duties

Greet patients warmly and assist them with the check-in process.
Schedule and confirm patient appointments, ensuring efficient use of time slots.
Manage incoming calls and respond to patient inquiries with professionalism and care.
Maintain patient records in compliance with confidentiality regulations.
Process patient information and insurance details accurately.
Coordinate with medical staff to facilitate smooth operations within the practice.
Handle administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and data entry as required.
Ensure the reception area is tidy and welcoming for patients.

Skills

Strong administrative skills with experience in office management preferred.
Excellent organisational abilities to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Proficient in using office software and medical management systems.
Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients and staff.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information responsibly.
A friendly disposition with a focus on providing excellent customer service.
