Full job description

We are a friendly GP Practice in the heart of Finsbury Park looking for a medical receptionist to join our Reception Team. The hours are 30-37.5hours per week Monday - Friday, looking for full-time team member doing a mixture of morning and afternoon shifts) . Experience of working in a GP Surgery and a working knowledge of EMIS Web is desirable but not essential. Please forward a current Curriculum Vitae with a covering letter.

Main duties

a. Maintaining and monitoring the practice appointment system

b. Process personal, telephone and e-requests for appointments

c. Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers request appropriately

d. Signpost patients to the correct service

e. Initiating contact with and responding to, requests from patients, team members and external agencies

f. Photocopy documentation as required

h. Data entry of new and temporary registrations and relevant patient information as required

i. Input data into the patient’s healthcare records as necessary

j. Manage all queries as necessary in an efficient manner

k. Carry out system searches as requested

l. Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times

m. Monitor and maintain the reception area and notice boards

Support all clinical staff with general tasks as requested
