Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Motor Vehicle Mechanic or Apprentice Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles, ensuring they operate safely and efficiently. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical background and a passion for vehicle maintenance to develop their skills within a professional environment.

Duties - must be experienced in the below or already completed some qualifications and be able & willing to learn on the job

Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify faults and issues
Servicing including timing belts
Diagnose mechanical problems using schematics and technical manuals
Repair or replace faulty components using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment
Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, brake inspections, and tyre replacements
Assemble vehicle parts and systems following manufacturer specifications
Utilise welding techniques for structural repairs or modifications
Maintain detailed records of repairs and maintenance activities
Assist with equipment repair and maintenance to ensure workshop safety and efficiency
Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs and maintenance procedures clearly to clients
Undertake heavy lifting when handling vehicle parts or components requiring manual effort
Other duties as required including but not restricted to fitting of body kits, wheels, coilovers, suspension

Requirements

Proven experience in vehicle repair and maintenance, preferably as a qualified mechanic
Strong understanding of vehicle schematics and mechanical systems
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment effectively and safely
Knowledge of assembly processes related to vehicle repair or modification
Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics accurately
Good organisational skills with attention to detail in record keeping
Physical strength to perform heavy lifting tasks safely
Excellent customer service skills with a professional attitude
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work neatly & tidily in line with expectations
