Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and organised Activity Coordinator to enhance the quality of life for residents in our care facility. 30hrs a week contract available. The successful candidate will plan, organise, and facilitate engaging activities tailored to the needs of our residents, with a focus on promoting social interaction, mental stimulation, and overall wellbeing. Experience in assisted living, nursing home environments, or senior care is highly desirable. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of older adults, including those requiring dementia or Alzheimer's care.

Duties

Develop and implement a diverse programme of activities suitable for residents with varying needs, including those with dementia or Alzheimer's disease
Organise group events, individual activities, and special occasions that encourage participation and socialisation
Collaborate with care staff to assess residents’ interests and abilities, ensuring activities are personalised and inclusive
Maintain accurate records of resident participation and activity outcomes
Foster a warm and welcoming environment that promotes independence and dignity among residents
Provide emotional support and encouragement to residents during activities
Monitor safety during activities and adapt plans as necessary to accommodate individual needs

Experience

Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or senior care environments is preferred
Knowledge of dementia care and Alzheimer’s care techniques is advantageous
Proven caregiving skills with excellent communication abilities are essential
Familiarity with organising engaging activities for elderly residents, particularly those with cognitive impairments
Compassionate approach with strong organisational skills to manage multiple activities effectively
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team dedicated to providing high-quality care
