The Christie PET-CT Academy is seeking a motivated and innovative Marketing Officer to join the team on a one-year fixed-term maternity cover contract. The Academy delivers a nationally and internationally recognised portfolio of education courses, events and professional development opportunities, supporting the PET-CT workforce across the UK and beyond.
As part of The Christie Institute for Cancer Education, the Academy contributes to a broader portfolio that includes master’s level programmes, surgical short courses and clinical skills training. It has earned a strong reputation for excellence in education and workforce development.
We are looking for a creative and proactive individual who enjoys working collaboratively and can contribute to our forward-thinking approach to education and events. You will be confident using technology to support marketing activity, able to think creatively, and comfortable working across organisational boundaries.
The role requires creativity, strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills. You will lead on implementing the Academy’s marketing plan, monitoring and reporting on progress against objectives, and supporting event and course-booking administration when required.
- Support the Programme Manager in implementing a marketing strategy for the PET-CT Academy, using a range of channels including social media.
- Adopt and apply a range of creative marketing opportunities to ensure that appropriate markets are actively targeted.
- Work with the Programme Manager to set targets and measure performance against targets in relation to user access and uptake.
- Implement, manage and review the marketing and communications plan on a day-to-day basis, ensuring accurate and consistent delivery of communication messages and activities within agreed timescales.
- Analyse surveys, polls, and other market research, to inform current and future plans, to ensure education activity continues to be delivered to a high standard and identify patterns and trends
- to look for patterns and trends.
- Monitor registration rates for the programme of events and measure that the targets are being met, report to the team and suggest necessary action.
- Adopt and apply a range of creative marketing opportunities to ensure that appropriate markets are actively targeted.

The Christie is one of Europe’s leading cancer centres, treating over 60,000 patients a year. We are based in Manchester and serve a population of 3.2 million across Greater Manchester & Cheshire, but as a national specialist around 15% patients are referred to us from other parts of the country.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the Programme Manager in implementing a marketing strategy for the PET-CT Academy, using a range of channels including social media

- Work with the Programme Manager to set targets and measure performance against targets in relation to user access and uptake
- Implement, manage and review the marketing and communications plan on a day-to-day basis, ensuring accurate and consistent delivery of communication messages and activities within agreed timescales.
- Adjusts marketing campaigns and strategies as needed in response to collected data and other feedback
- Develop and plan a range of promotional events.
- Be present at events to coordinate all activities and be the main point of contact
- Analyse surveys, polls, and other market research, to inform current and future plans, to ensure education activity continues to be delivered to a high standard and identify patterns and trends

Finance
- Raise purchase order requisitions, invoice external organisations, process personal payments, ensuring that processes comply with the Trust’s Standing Financial Instructions
- Comply with Trust Standing Financial Instructions
- Oversee social media marketing budgetary spending
- Work closely with service leads and marketing champions within the CICE to ensure marketing activity is integrated effectively
- Attend marketing related meetings, updating key internal stakeholders on upcoming activities and supporting teams to deliver key KPI’s
- Maintain and act as a guardian for the PET-CT Academy brand ensuring that all marketing materials produced are to a consistent and high standard and meet guidelines
- Manage and respond to all marketing enquiries and requests for information from internal staff, stakeholders, the media and other organisations
- Ensure that all PET-CT Academy photography and videography meet the brand guidelines and the required consent from those featured
- Develop and plan a range of promotional events
- Update PET-CT Academy webpages on a continual basis, ensuring all information is engaging, up to date and meets branding and accessibility guidelines
- Work creatively with the Academy’s learning designer to ensure effective design and marketing concepts are utilised in the promotion of educational materials
- Design and oversee the production of posters, flyers, agendas, mailshots, and delegate materials in conjunction with the team administrator and learning designer
- Analyse and monitor the CRM database, ensuring that data collected meets governance requirements, PET-CT Academy data standards and can meet business requirements, suggesting improvements in data collection/product targeting
General
- Provide ad hoc support to other members of the team during periods of absence and periods of fluctuating activity.
- To undertake any other duties commensurate with the grade of the post
- Maintain excellent contacts and relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
- Work flexibly to support the development of activity within the PET-CT Academy
- Supervise other administrative staff to ensure all PET-CT Academy activity is well attended, coordinated, and evaluated
- Ensure General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is adhered to through all activity.
