Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and organised Medical Secretary to provide essential administrative support within a busy healthcare environment. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring smooth communication between patients, healthcare professionals, and administrative staff. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with office and administrative experience to contribute to high-quality patient care while developing their professional skills.

Duties

Answering phone calls and responding to patient enquiries with professionalism and empathy
Preparing and maintaining accurate medical records and documentation
Handling correspondence, including emails, letters, and referrals
Coordinating communication between doctors, nurses, and other healthcare staff
Ensuring compliance with confidentiality and data protection regulations
Supporting the clinic’s administrative operations to ensure seamless daily functioning

Qualifications

Proven office experience, preferably within a healthcare or medical setting
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Proficiency in MS Office programmes such as Word, Excel, and Outlook
Attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Previous administrative experience is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate

The role is being advertised at 34 hours per week, over 4 days. Hours per day can be flexible.
