Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our team on a part-time basis during evening shifts. The successful candidate will support our kitchen operations by maintaining cleanliness, assisting with food preparation, and ensuring the smooth running of the kitchen environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in gaining experience within the hospitality industry, particularly in food service and culinary settings. The position is ideal for those seeking flexible evening hours and a dynamic work environment.

Responsibilities

Assist with basic food preparation tasks under supervision, including washing vegetables and organising ingredients.
Support cooking activities by preparing ingredients and maintaining cleanliness of workstations.
Ensure all kitchen equipment, utensils, and surfaces are kept hygienic and sanitised in accordance with health and safety standards.
Clear and clean dishes, pots, pans, and other kitchenware promptly after use.
Maintain stock levels of cleaning supplies and report any shortages or equipment issues to management.
Support the team during busy service periods by ensuring the kitchen remains organised and efficient.
Follow all health and safety regulations to uphold a safe working environment for staff and customers.

Skills

Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or hospitality environments such as restaurants, hotels, or catering services is advantageous.
Basic understanding of kitchen hygiene standards and safety procedures.
Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
Good organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure cleanliness and orderliness of the kitchen area.
