Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our culinary team and oversee all aspects of food preparation and kitchen operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the flavour profile and presentation standards of our establishment while maintaining high levels of food safety and quality. The Head Chef will be responsible for managing kitchen staff, developing menus, and ensuring smooth daily operations in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Duties

Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff, including chefs, cooks, and kitchen assistants.
Oversee food production processes to ensure consistency, quality, and presentation standards are met.
Develop innovative menus that reflect current culinary trends whilst catering to customer preferences.
Manage food preparation, cooking, and plating to ensure timely delivery during service hours.
Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards across all kitchen areas.
Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock control efficiently.
Train new team members in food preparation techniques, safety procedures, and customer service expectations.
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction.
Implement cost control measures without compromising quality or guest experience.
Uphold a positive working environment that encourages teamwork, creativity, and professional development.

Requirements

Proven supervising experience within a busy restaurant or hospitality setting.
Extensive culinary experience with a strong background in food production and preparation.
Demonstrable team management skills with the ability to motivate and lead diverse groups of staff.
Solid knowledge of food safety standards and regulations applicable within the UK hospitality industry.
Experience in menu development, food presentation, and cooking techniques across various cuisines.
Previous restaurant experience with a focus on high-quality service delivery.
Strong leadership qualities combined with excellent organisational skills.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Good communication skills with an emphasis on teamwork and customer service excellence.
