Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly and efficient Coffee Shop Barista to join our vibrant team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering excellent customer service while preparing and serving a variety of hot and cold beverages. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where attention to detail, food safety, and time management are essential. Previous barista experience is preferred but not mandatory, as training will be provided. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for coffee, a welcoming attitude, and the ability to work effectively under pressure.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve a range of coffee beverages, teas, and other refreshments in accordance with company standards.
Operate coffee machines and other equipment safely and efficiently.
Ensure all food safety and hygiene regulations are strictly followed at all times.
Provide excellent customer service by taking orders accurately and engaging with customers in a friendly manner.
Handle cash transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system.
Maintain cleanliness of work areas, equipment, and dining spaces throughout shifts.
Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth operation during busy periods.
Assist in food preparation tasks when required, including assembling snacks or light meals.
Manage time effectively during peak hours to serve customers promptly without compromising quality.

Qualifications

Previous experience as a barista or in a similar serving role is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided.
Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices is desirable.
Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Excellent time management skills to ensure timely service during busy periods.
Friendly, approachable manner with good communication skills.
Ability to work well within a team and independently as required.
Flexibility to work shifts including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed.
