Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our small kitchen team at The Noble Goose. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting Head Chef James Self in managing kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality and safety. This position requires strong culinary skills, leadership abilities, and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

Duties

Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient food preparation and presentation.
Oversee daily kitchen operations, including inventory management, food safety compliance, and cleanliness of work areas.
Train new kitchen staff on cooking techniques, food safety practices, and restaurant policies.
Collaborate with team members to maintain high standards of food quality and consistency.
Monitor portion control and minimise waste to contribute to cost-effective kitchen operations.
Ensure all dishes are prepared according to recipes and presentation standards before serving.
Handle any issues that arise within the kitchen promptly and effectively to maintain a harmonious working environment.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within a restaurant setting.
Strong culinary skills with a deep understanding of food preparation techniques and presentation.
Excellent leadership abilities with experience in team management and staff supervision.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for maintaining hygiene standards in the kitchen.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong communication skills, fostering collaboration within the kitchen team.
A passion for hospitality and creating memorable dining experiences for guests.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
