Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Commis Chef / Chef de Partie to join our dynamic culinary team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in a professional kitchen environment, contributing to the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the kitchen operations, ensuring food safety standards are maintained, and assisting in delivering an exceptional dining experience for our guests. Prior kitchen experience and a strong interest in culinary arts are essential for this position.

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation and cooking of a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards
Support the Head Chef and Sous Chefs in daily kitchen operations
Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety and hygiene regulations
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations, including washing, sanitising, and storing utensils and equipment
Contribute to meal presentation, ensuring dishes are served attractively and promptly
Follow health and safety procedures diligently to prevent accidents or contamination
Assist with inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages
Support team members during busy service periods to ensure smooth kitchen operations

Experience

Previous experience in a professional kitchen environment, ideally within a restaurant or hotel setting
Knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and culinary terminology
Familiarity with food safety standards and hygiene practices
Experience with meal preparation across various cuisines is advantageous
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
