Area Sales Manager SPS PHS (10 Depots)

About Sussex Plumbing Supplies

Since 2000, Sussex Plumbing Supplies has supported plumbing professionals across the Southeast, with a strong focus on customer service, reliability, and expertise.

As part of the Independent Builders Merchants Group (IBMG), we provide specialist supply with confidence.

The Role

Were looking for a driven Area Sales Manager (ASM) to deliver profitable growth across 10 depots.

Youll:

Grow existing customer accounts
Win new business
Support branch teams to achieve sales & margin targets
Build strong relationships with customers and suppliers

Youll also manage your own customer ledger, driving revenue, protecting margin, and increasing market share.

What Youll Be Doing

Sales & Business Development

Deliver sales and margin targets
Build and manage customer accounts through regular visits
Identify and secure new business opportunities
Cross-sell products and promote group services
Monitor competitor activity and market trends

Branch Collaboration

Work closely with Branch & Area Managers
Align sales strategies with branch targets
Share pipeline activity and market insight
Support branches in converting opportunities

Supplier Engagement

Conduct joint supplier/customer visits
Promote product initiatives
Stay up to date on product ranges and trends

Planning & Performance

Maintain structured call planning
Keep CRM/pipeline accurate and updated
Track KPIs (new business, conversions, dormant accounts)

Credit Management

Ensure customers operate within credit limits
Work with Credit Control to manage risk
Resolve account queries efficiently

What Were Looking For

Experience

Proven track record of sales growth
Field sales or account management experience
Strong commercial awareness (pricing & margin)
Experience winning new business
Industry knowledge preferred
