Full job description

Job Summary

We are seeking an immediate start for an energetic and experienced Temporary Head Chef to lead the culinary operations at our outdoor venue The Manor Grill due to our current Head Chef needing emergency foot surgery. An in-person hand over will be done with our current chef to you to ensure the menu and standards are understood. This dynamic role involves overseeing food production, ensuring exceptional quality, and managing your own KP which is already in place. The ideal candidate will bring culinary expertise, strong leadership skills, and a passion for hospitality to create memorable dining experiences for guests. As the head of the kitchen, you will be responsible for maintaining food safety standards, coordinating food preparation, and delivering outstanding service in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

Lead and supervise all aspects of food production, ensuring high-quality dishes are prepared efficiently and consistently
Manage and motivate your Grill team around you in a calm and professional manor.
Oversee food preparation processes, including menu planning, ingredient sourcing, and portion control
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness standards across the kitchen area, this is all in place with our current Head Chef, so it will be a matter of carrying it on.
Coordinate with event staff to deliver timely service during outdoor events and gatherings such as our wellness retreats.
Monitor inventory levels, order supplies as needed, and control food costs to optimize operations
Provide hands-on cooking from the BBQ and Grill outdoor Kitchen and field Kitchen.

Qualifications

Proven supervising experience in a fast-paced kitchen or hospitality environment
Extensive culinary experience with strong skills in food preparation and cooking techniques
Demonstrated team management abilities with effective leadership qualities
Knowledge of food safety protocols and best practices in restaurant or outdoor venue settings
Previous kitchen experience in outdoor venues or event catering is highly desirable
Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members and event staff
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining energy and focus

Pay: Up to £30.00 per hour
