Job Title: 1-1 Teaching Assistant
Location: Bluebank School, Whittington Moor, Derbyshire, S41 8LQ
Hours: 37.5 hours per week | Monday–Friday | 8.30am - 4.00pm
Salary: £22,160.20 per annum (not pro rata)
Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only
Start: September 2026

At Bluebank School, we're looking for a compassionate, patient and dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to provide personalised support to a pupil with additional needs. This is a unique opportunity to build a meaningful relationship, helping one young person develop the confidence, independence and skills they need to thrive both in school and beyond.

You'll work alongside an experienced and supportive team, creating a safe, nurturing environment where every achievement—big or small—is celebrated.

What you will be doing

Provide dedicated 1:1 support, enabling a pupil with SEND and complex needs to access learning and achieve their individual goals.
Adapt learning activities, resources and routines to meet the pupil's educational, emotional and social needs.
Build a positive, trusting relationship that promotes confidence, resilience and emotional wellbeing.
Encourage communication, independence, social skills and positive engagement throughout the school day.
Support learning both in the classroom and during outdoor learning, enrichment activities and educational visits.
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, families and the wider multidisciplinary team to provide consistent, personalised support.
Monitor progress, celebrate achievements and contribute to individual support plans and reviews.
Promote positive behaviour and ensure the pupil's safety, wellbeing and safeguarding remain at the heart of everything you do.

- Holds a Full UK Driving Licence.
