Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Nursery Practitioner to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children. You will be responsible for supporting their development through engaging activities and effective communication with both children and parents. A strong background in early childhood education and experience with managing groups of children is essential for this role.

Responsibilities

Create and implement age-appropriate educational activities that promote learning and development.
Supervise children during playtime, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
Communicate effectively with children, fostering a positive atmosphere that encourages their social skills.
Manage daily routines, including meal times, nap times, and transitions between activities.
Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a clean and organised nursery environment.
Build strong relationships with parents through regular updates on their child's progress and development.
Lead by example, demonstrating leadership qualities that inspire both children and fellow staff members.
Maintain accurate records of children's progress and any incidents that may occur.

Qualifications

A recognised qualification in Early Childhood Education or equivalent experience in childcare settings is preferred.
Proven experience working with children in a nursery or similar environment.
Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
Ability to manage groups of children effectively while promoting positive behaviour.
A valid driving licence would be advantageous for occasional outings or activities outside the nursery.
Demonstrated leadership skills to guide and support less experienced staff members.
A genuine passion for working with young children and contributing to their growth and development.
