Job Overview
The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day hotel operations to ensure exceptional guest experience, operational efficiency, compliance, and profitability across all departments. The role will support the General Manager in driving service standards, team performance, and operational excellence throughout the hotel.

The successful candidate will play a key leadership role within the property, ensuring effective coordination between Front Office, Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, Spa, Maintenance, and other operational departments.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Management

Oversee the daily operations of the hotel to ensure smooth and efficient service delivery.
Support all operational departments to maintain high standards of guest satisfaction and service quality.
Monitor operational performance and ensure compliance with company standards, policies, and procedures.
Ensure effective communication and coordination between departments.
Support the General Manager in achieving operational and financial objectives.

Guest Experience

Ensure exceptional customer service standards are maintained throughout the hotel.
Resolve guest complaints and operational issues promptly and professionally.
Monitor guest feedback, online reviews, and service performance to identify areas for improvement.
Promote a positive guest-focused culture across all departments.

Team Leadership

Supervise, support, and motivate departmental managers and operational teams.
Conduct regular team briefings and operational meetings.
Assist with recruitment, onboarding, training, and employee development.
Promote employee engagement, wellbeing, and a positive working environment.
Ensure staff conduct and performance meet company expectations.

Financial & Commercial Responsibilities

Support cost control measures and departmental budgeting.
Monitor labour costs, productivity, and operational expenses.
Assist in driving revenue opportunities across hotel operations.
Support stock control and operational purchasing procedures where required.

Compliance & Health & Safety

Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation, food safety standards, fire procedures, and company policies.
Ensure all operational areas remain compliant with licensing and legal requirements.
Support audits, inspections, and risk assessments as required.
Promote safe working practices throughout the hotel.

Duty Management

Act as Duty Manager as required, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
Handle emergency situations and operational incidents professionally and efficiently.
Ensure operational coverage and management presence across the property.

Skills & Experience Required

Previous experience in a hotel operations management role within hospitality.
Strong leadership and people management skills.
Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
Ability to work in a fast-paced operational environment.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Knowledge of hotel operations including Front Office, Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, and guest services.
Financial awareness and understanding of operational budgets and labour control.
Good understanding of Health & Safety and compliance requirements.
