Full job description

Department: Warehouse

Reports To: Production Manager

Location: Maxwell Street

Job Summary:

To ensure the timely and accurate delivery of goods to residential addresses, predominantly within the local area, while supporting general warehouse and operations teams during non-driving periods. The role requires a strong focus on manual labour and safe driving practices, with occasional longer-distance deliveries as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

Safely deliver goods to residential and occasionally commercial addresses ensuring all items are handled with care and delivered on time.
Load and unload goods, ensuring items are securely packed and protected during transit.
Plan and follow the most efficient routes for timely deliveries while adhering to traffic laws and company policies.
Perform general warehousing duties, including packing, loading, and unloading goods.
Support the operations team by carrying out manual labour tasks when deliveries are not required.
Operate a counterbalance forklift truck (FLT) as needed for moving goods around the warehouse and to the van.
Assist in maintaining an organised and safe working environment in both warehouse and factory areas.
Conduct pre-delivery vehicle inspections and report any defects or issues to the manager.
Comply with all company policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations.
Collaborate with team members and management to ensure the smooth flow of operations.
Occasionally drive longer distances for deliveries further afield as required.
Perform other related duties as assigned to support the overall goals of the company.

Education and Experience:

Full UK driving licence (required).
Counterbalance FLT licence (required).
Reach truck licence (advantageous but not required).
Experience in driving delivery vehicles, preferably for local deliveries.
Ability to perform manual labour and handle heavy lifting.
Good time management and organisational skills.
Due to business motor insurance policy restrictions, applicants must be aged 21 or over for this role.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
Experience in warehouse or factory operations (preferred but not essential).
