Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Nursery Manager to oversee daily operations within our childcare centre. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a passion for early childhood education and working with children. This role involves ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young learners while maintaining high standards of childcare provision. The Nursery Manager will be responsible for leading a team of staff, developing programmes, and fostering positive relationships with parents and the community.

Duties

Manage the daily running of the nursery, including staffing, planning activities, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Lead, motivate, and supervise nursery staff to deliver high-quality childcare and early childhood education.
Develop and implement educational programmes that support children's developmental needs.
Oversee the recruitment, training, and performance management of staff members.
Maintain effective communication with parents regarding their children's progress and welfare.
Ensure health and safety policies are adhered to at all times within the nursery environment.
Organise staff rotas to ensure adequate cover during operational hours.
Manage administrative tasks such as record keeping, budgeting, and reporting to senior management.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service quality and operational efficiency.

Skills

Proven management experience within a nursery or childcare setting.
Strong leadership qualities with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
Extensive knowledge of early childhood education principles and childcare regulations.
Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
Experience working directly with children across various age groups.
Ability to organise workloads effectively whilst maintaining attention to detail.
Good interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with children, parents, and staff.
Valid driving licence is desirable for travel between multiple nursery locations or community engagement activities. Candidates should demonstrate a genuine commitment to child development and possess the organisational skills necessary for effective nursery management.

Pay: £30,160.00-£35,000.00 per year
