Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant/Cook to join our team. This role involves supporting the preparation and cooking of meals in a busy kitchen environment, ensuring high standards of food safety and quality. The successful candidate will play a vital part in delivering delicious, nutritious meals to our customers while maintaining a clean and organised workspace. Previous kitchen or culinary experience is preferred, but full training will be provided for the right candidate. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within a professional kitchen setting.

Duties

Assist with food preparation, including chopping, peeling, and measuring ingredients
Cook and prepare meals according to specified recipes and standards
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and cleaning surfaces
Ensure all food safety regulations are adhered to at all times
Support the team during busy service periods by serving food and attending to customer needs
Help with stock rotation and inventory checks to ensure freshness and minimise waste
Follow health and safety guidelines diligently to maintain a safe working environment

Qualifications

Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
Knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods
Understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Good organisational skills with attention to detail
Friendly, reliable, and able to work well as part of a team
Flexibility to work various shifts as required, including weekends if necessary

Pay: From £12.71 per hour
