Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Junior Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, extensive kitchen experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional food quality. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will assist the Head Chef in managing daily operations, supervising kitchen staff, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and presentation are maintained. Duties

Assist the Head Chef in planning and preparing diverse menus that meet quality standards and customer expectations
Supervise and support kitchen staff during service, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to safety protocols
Oversee food production processes, ensuring consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control
Manage food preparation activities, including cooking, plating, and garnishing dishes to meet high standards
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in compliance with health and safety regulations
Monitor inventory levels, assist with stock ordering, and minimise waste through effective utilisation of ingredients
Train new team members on food safety procedures, cooking techniques, and service standards
Serve as a role model for professional conduct and culinary excellence within the team

Skills

Proven supervising experience within a busy kitchen environment
Strong background in food production, cooking, and food preparation techniques
Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate and lead staff effectively
Deep understanding of food safety standards and best practices in hospitality settings
Experience in restaurant operations with a focus on high-quality service delivery
Leadership qualities combined with a passion for culinary arts and innovation
Good organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure
