Job Overview

Stokenchurch Medical Centre is a small, friendly, village practice located in semi-rural Buckinghamshire. We are a small team with a supportive and caring attitude for staff and patients. We are seeking a professional and friendly GP Receptionist to join our healthcare team from 14.00 to 18.30, Monday to Friday. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing excellent customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of the reception area. This role offers an opportunity to work in a supportive environment within a busy medical practice, contributing to patient care and organisational efficiency.

Responsibilities

Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival, ensuring a welcoming environment.
Manage appointment scheduling, confirmations, and cancellations efficiently using practice management software.
Answer incoming calls promptly, directing queries appropriately and providing accurate information.
Handle patient enquiries with discretion and sensitivity, maintaining confidentiality at all times.
Maintain accurate patient records, updating personal information and medical histories as required.
Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and correspondence.
Ensure the reception area remains tidy, organised, and presentable at all times.
Support the team with additional administrative duties as needed to ensure seamless clinic operations.

Qualifications

Prior office or administrative experience is desirable but not essential; training will be provided.
Proven organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a friendly demeanour.
Proficiency in using office software.
Ability to work well under pressure whilst maintaining attention to detail.
A professional attitude with a commitment to providing outstanding patient service.
Experience in a healthcare setting or familiarity with medical terminology is advantageous but not mandatory.
