Overview
We are seeking a reliable and proactive General Warehouse Operative to join our busy clients logistics team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of warehouse activities, including materials handling, stock management, and order fulfilment. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within a dynamic environment that values safety, efficiency, and teamwork.

Duties

Handling materials safely and efficiently, including loading and unloading goods from lorries and storage areas
Operating forklift trucks and other warehouse equipment (training provided)
Managing stock levels using warehouse management systems (WMS) to ensure accurate inventory records
Picking and packing orders accurately for dispatch, ensuring quality standards are met
Stocking shelves and organising storage areas for optimal space utilisation
Assisting with shipping and receiving processes, including documentation and labelling
Conducting quality control checks to maintain product standards
Performing basic mechanical tasks related to warehouse equipment maintenance
Ensuring the work environment remains clean, safe, and compliant with health and safety regulations

Requirements

Previous experience in a warehouse environment is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for specific tasks
Knowledge of materials handling techniques and safety procedures
Experience operating forklift trucks or willingness to undertake certification (training provided)
Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is advantageous
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently throughout the shift
Mechanical knowledge or aptitude is a plus for equipment maintenance tasks
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in picking, packing, and stock management
Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities within a fast-paced environment
