Casting Operatives and Steel Fixer Required for immediate start - Hoo, Rochester

Join a growing team delivering high‑quality bespoke stonework for restoration projects. We are looking for reliable, hardworking operatives to work in our precast stone yard in Hoo, Rochester. If you take pride in your work, are a team player and enjoy being part of a fast‑moving, hands‑on environment, this could be a great fit.

We are looking to fill two different roles for our manufacturing process and welcome applications from all backgrounds. We are committed to ensuring a transparent, inclusive recruitment process for every candidate in line with our Equality and Diversity policy.

Casting Operative - Key Responsibilities

· Striking, cleaning and setting moulds

· Working with power tools, both manual and powered

· Manual handling - lifting, carrying and stacking stones

· Finishing stonework to a high standard ready for delivery to site

· Tidying and general housekeeping of workshop and outside areas

Structural Steelworker – Key Responsibilities

· Cutting and shaping steel rebar to form a structural cage to strengthen the concrete in the moulded units

· Setting the structural cage into the moulds

· The ability to read and interpret drawingsi

· The ability to take accurate measurements

· Have an eye for detail

Requirements for both roles

· Previous experience in a labouring or manual handling role is advantageous but not essential as training will be provided

· Must be physically fit and have the stamina to carry out manual work throughout the day

· Reliable, punctual and willing to learn new skills

· Able to work as part of a team

· Due to site location applicants must have their own reliable transport to cover their journey to and from work

· Applicants will be required to have their own steel toecap work boots however all other PPE will be provided

· An awareness of health and safety procedures

These are ongoing positions, working five days a week from Monday to Friday starting at 7.30am with a 4.30pm finish.

Successful applicants will start on a basic pay scale for an initial trial period, working via the CIS scheme on a self-employed basis. Satisfactory references will be requested for successful candidates.
