Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Café Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, preparing and serving food and beverages, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. This role offers an opportunity to develop skills in food service within a vibrant setting, ensuring customers have a positive experience from start to finish.

Duties

Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee and tea, adhering to quality standards.
Assist with food preparation tasks such as assembling sandwiches, salads, or snacks as required.
Serve customers at the counter or table, ensuring prompt and courteous service.
Maintain cleanliness of the café area, including clearing tables, washing dishes, and sanitising surfaces regularly.
Manage stock levels, restocking supplies as needed to ensure smooth operation throughout shifts.
Handle cash transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system.
Follow food safety and hygiene regulations at all times to ensure compliance with health standards.
Support team members during busy periods by assisting with various tasks as required.

Qualifications

Previous experience as a barista or in food serving is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided.
Knowledge of food safety standards is preferred.
Ability to prepare basic food items and beverages efficiently.
Good organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively during busy periods.
Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately.
Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and approachable manner.
Ability to work well within a team and adapt to changing priorities.
A proactive attitude towards maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards. This position offers an engaging environment where you can enhance your customer service skills while working in a dynamic café setting. Pay: From £11.00 per hour
