Job Description

We’re looking for a strong Sous Chef to join the team at The Green Dragon.

This is not a corporate chain kitchen. We’re an independent, fast-growing pub focused on quality food, busy services, great atmosphere, and building a venue people genuinely want to visit.

We need someone who can handle pressure, lead from the front, and take real pride in what leaves the pass.

The role would suit a chef who enjoys fresh food, busy services, and being part of a team that’s pushing standards higher rather than just ticking boxes.

What we’re looking for:

Previous experience as a Sous Chef or strong Senior CDP
Calm under pressure during busy services
Strong organisational skills and kitchen standards
Passion for quality food and presentation
A hands-on approach and strong work ethic
Someone who leads positively and supports the team around them

The role includes:

Supporting the Head Chef with day-to-day kitchen operations
Running service and leading the kitchen when required
Helping maintain consistency, quality, and hygiene standards
Assisting with menu development and specials
Supporting stock control and kitchen organisation
Training and developing junior team members

£32,000–£38,000 depending on experience
