Job Title: Hotel Housekeeper

Department: Housekeeping
Reports To: Head Housekeeper / Housekeeping Supervisor

Job Summary

The Hotel Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, orderliness, and overall appearance of guest rooms and public areas. This role ensures a welcoming and comfortable environment for all guests by performing daily cleaning duties and supporting the smooth operation of the housekeeping department.

Key Responsibilities

Clean and service guest rooms according to hotel standards, including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, replenishing amenities, and sanitizing bathrooms.
Ensure all assigned areas, such as hallways, staircases, and common spaces, are clean and tidy.
Report any maintenance issues, damages, or missing items to the supervisor promptly.
Handle guests’ requests professionally and courteously.
Follow proper procedures for using cleaning chemicals and equipment safely.
Replenish linens, towels, and cleaning supplies as needed.
Adhere to hotel policies regarding health, safety, and hygiene.
Maintain a positive, team-oriented attitude and assist colleagues when required.

Qualifications and Skills

Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred (hotel experience an asset).
Attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness.
Ability to work efficiently and independently with minimal supervision.
Good communication and customer service skills.
Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks and lift moderate weights.
Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts.

Working Conditions

Position requires standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the shift.
Uniform provided; adherence to grooming standards required.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From £13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
