Full job description

Lyntoncare provides high-quality supported living services for adults, helping people to live independently within their own homes and communities. We are committed to delivering safe, comfortable, and well-maintained environments that promote dignity, independence, and wellbeing.

We are looking for a skilled and reliable Multi-Skilled Maintenance Person to join our team and support our portfolio of supported living properties across the region.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of maintenance, repair, and improvement works across our supported living services. This is a hands-on role requiring practical experience across multiple trades, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently while maintaining high standards.

You will play a key role in ensuring our properties remain safe, compliant, and comfortable for the people we support.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across supported living properties.
Perform repairs and maintenance including:
Basic plumbing
Carpentry and joinery
Decorating and painting
Tiling and flooring repairs
General building maintenance
Basic electrical repairs (within competency)
Conduct regular property inspections and identify maintenance requirements.
Complete preventative maintenance to minimise future repairs and costs.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency call-outs when required.
Ensure all properties remain compliant with health and safety regulations.
Liaise professionally with support staff, contractors, and suppliers.
Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used.
Assist with property refurbishments, adaptations, and improvement projects.
Ensure all work is completed to a high standard with minimal disruption to tenants.
Report any safeguarding, health and safety, or property concerns to management.

Essential Requirements

Proven experience in a property maintenance, facilities, handyman, building services, or similar role.
Relevant qualification in a trade discipline such as Plumbing, Electrical Installation, Carpentry, Building Maintenance, Facilities Management, or equivalent (NVQ Level 2 or above).
Practical skills across multiple trades.
Good understanding of building maintenance and repair techniques.
Ability to work independently and prioritise workload effectively.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and safe working practices.
Full UK Driving Licence.
Good communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work respectfully within occupied homes and supported living environments.

Desirable Requirements

NVQ Level 3 or equivalent trade qualification.
City & Guilds qualifications.
Experience working within supported living, healthcare, social care, housing, or residential settings.
Knowledge of compliance requirements relating to residential properties.
IOSH or other Health & Safety qualification.
