Full job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and reliable Fitters Mate / Yard Hand to join our dynamic team. In this hands-on role, you will assist skilled tradespeople and contribute to various construction and fabrication projects. Your energy, attention to detail, and willingness to learn will help ensure smooth operations on-site and in the yard. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop a broad skill set in construction, fabrication, and maintenance while supporting a collaborative work environment.

Responsibilities

Assist fitter with repairs and maintainance on HGVs, Plant and Heavy plant
Operate hand tools, power tools.
Prepare materials and organize supplies in the yard for upcoming projects.
Support site safety protocols by maintaining a clean and hazard-free work environment.
Support the team with general yard duties such as loading/unloading materials and maintaining equipment.

Experience

Previous experience or exposure to construction sites or related trades is preferred but not mandatory; a strong willingness to learn is essential.
Familiarity with hand tools, power tools is advantageous.
Demonstrated ability to work safely with construction materials and equipment.
Ability to follow instructions accurately while maintaining a proactive approach to tasks.
In house training can be provided to the right candidate
Experience operating heavy plant would be advantageous
Full uk driving licence prefered.
