Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Nursery Lunch Cover to support our childcare team during lunchtime hours. The successful candidate will assist in supervising children, ensuring their safety, and providing a nurturing environment during meal times and must hold a minimum of Level 2 childcare qualification.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in early childhood education or childcare to gain valuable experience within a supportive setting.

Duties

Supervise children during staff lunch hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
Assist children with eating and encourage good manners and behaviour.
Support the organisation of lunchtime activities and ensure the environment remains clean and tidy.
Communicate effectively with children, staff, and parents as required.
Follow all health and safety procedures, including food hygiene standards.
Support the wider nursery team with additional tasks as needed, including light cleaning or organisational duties.
Ensure children are engaged in appropriate activities and promote positive social interactions.

Requirements

Previous experience working with children or in childcare settings is desirable.
Knowledge of early childhood education principles is advantageous.
Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to interact positively with children, staff, and parents.
Management or leadership experience is beneficial but not essential.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team within a busy nursery environment.
A caring attitude, patience, and enthusiasm for working with young children.
Valid driving licence is preferred for transportation purposes if required by the role.
Childcare qualifications or nursery experience will be considered an asset.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: £13.50 per hour
