Make a Difference Every Day!

We are looking for a compassionate, motivated and experienced Team Leader to join our warm and supportive 2-bed Ofsted Registered Children's Home for children and young people with learning disabilities.

This is an exciting opportunity to take on a leadership role within a small, child-centred home where you can make a genuine difference in the lives of children with mild to complex needs. The role is a full-time, permanent position. As Team Leader, you will support the Registered Manager in delivering outstanding care, leading by example and ensuring the home provides a safe, nurturing and therapeutic environment.

About the Role

As a Team Leader, you will:

Lead and support a team of Residential Support Workers during each shift.
Ensure children receive high-quality, person-centred care tailored to their individual needs.
Promote positive outcomes in line with each child's care plans, education and health needs.
Act as a positive role model, maintaining high standards of care and professional practice.
Support the Registered Manager with day-to-day operations and compliance with Ofsted regulations.
Complete and oversee accurate record-keeping, risk assessments, and incident reports.
Build positive relationships with families, social workers, education providers and healthcare professionals.
Safeguard children and promote their welfare at all times.
Administer medication where appropriately trained.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

Level 3 or Level 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent CYPW qualification)
Experience working in a children's residential care setting.
Experience supporting children or young people with learning disabilities and/or additional needs.
Ability to work a 3-on/3-off rolling rota (including weekends & bank holidays) - Shift times are 7 am to 9 pm.
Previous experience supervising, mentoring or leading staff.
Good knowledge of safeguarding, children's legislation and Ofsted standards.
Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills.
Ability to remain calm and confident in challenging situations.
Full UK driving licence (preferred).

Desirable:

Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards).
Experience supporting children with autism, communication difficulties or behaviours that challenge.
