Full job description

J.O'D Group is one of Londons leading waste managment companies who operate from three sites in North London. We are looking for a Site caretaker to join our team The Caretaker is responsible for ensuring that all sites across JOD Group are maintained in a safe, compliant, and fully operational condition. This is a hands-on, multi-skilled role requiring a proactive approach to both planned maintenance and reactive works.

The role plays a critical part in minimising operational downtime, maintaining site safety standards, and supporting the efficient operation of our waste management and recycling business.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out planned maintaince across all company sites, ensuring equipment and facilities remain in optimal working condition.
Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and efficient manner, prioritising operational impact
Conduct routine inspections of equipment and infrastructure, identifying defects and reporting risks
Ensure all maintenance activities are completed in line with health & safety legislation and company compliance standards
Maintain accurate maintenance records, service logs,
Liaise with site managers and operational teams to coordinate works and minimise disruption
Support external contractors on-site, ensuring works are completed to the required standards and specifications
Monitoring and ordering of janitorial supplies.
Ensuring sites are kept clean and tidy

Contribute to the continuous improvement of maintenance processes and site standards.

Skills & Experience

Proven experience in a multi-skilled maintenance role (industrial, construction, or waste management environments preferred)
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving capability
Competence across electrical, mechanical, and general building maintenance disciplines
Ability to work independently and manage workload across multiple sites
Good communication skills with a practical, solution-focused approach.
Full UK driving licence (essential)
Understanding of health & safety regulations, including risk assessments and safe systems of work

Additional Information

A company vehicle will be provided, as the role requires travel between multiple operational sites
Flexibility may be required to support operational demands and urgent maintenance issues.
