Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic A level Maths Tutor to support students in developing their mathematical skills in Newbury. Starting

The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching and a strong understanding of mathematics and feel comfortable to teach in at A level, with experience working with children or students requiring specialised educational support.

This role offers an opportunity to make a positive impact on learners’ academic progress and confidence. The position is paid and suitable for individuals committed to fostering a supportive learning environment.

We are finalising the location in Newbury with a permenant location in the centre of the town

Duties

Deliver personalised Maths tutoring sessions tailored to students’ individual needs and learning styles
Prepare engaging lesson plans and educational materials to facilitate effective learning
Assess students’ progress regularly and adapt teaching strategies accordingly
Support students in understanding complex mathematical concepts through clear explanations and practical examples
Foster a positive, encouraging atmosphere that boosts student confidence and motivation
Collaborate with parents, teachers, or special education staff to ensure comprehensive support for learners
Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and areas for improvement

Skills

Proven experience in tutoring or teaching mathematics at various levels
Ability to work effectively with children and young learners, including those requiring special education support
Strong communication skills to explain concepts clearly and engage students actively
Patience, adaptability, and the ability to motivate students of diverse abilities
Organised approach to lesson planning and record keeping
Knowledge of educational best practices and current curriculum standards is desirable

Pay: £18.40-£37.92 per hour
