The Role

As a Receptionist you will undertake a range of reception duties across the business always presenting a positive image of QinetiQ ensuring that processes and procedure are followed.

Day-to-day, you will work as the initial point of contact for any site visitors to QinetiQ’s Fort Halstead site presenting a positive image to a variety of stakeholders presenting a positive image and assisting with enquiries.

Your responsibilities will include:
Demonstrating and understanding concepts of Business Administration Services whilst having awareness of other business areas
Providing reception service and assistance to, internal and external customers
Providing support to groups of visitors, i.e booking onto site, using standard procedures and in line with health and safety and security requirements
Maintaining a range of records, entering, collating and organisting data using standard methods to assist with data analysis
Managing a large volume of telephone calls utilising voicemail, E-Mail for self and on behalf of others
Assisting with the booking of rooms, catering, and resources for meetings. This includes photocopying, printing, shredding etc

Essential experience of the Receptionist:
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook
Good organisational skills with the ability to multi-task
Strong attention to detail
Willingness to learn new skills and processes
Previous experience working in a customer service environment

Essential qualifications for the Receptionist:

This role is 37 hours per week-based at our Fort Halstead Site. This role is fully on-site. The hours of the reception on site 07:30-16:00 Monday to Thursday and 07:30-15:30 on a Friday, so some flexibility on working times may be required.

Our facilities at Fort Halstead, located in Kent, focus on a wide range of defence-related research, particularly weapons systems and military technology. Modern laboratories enable engineers and scientists to conduct high-tech research in material science, systems engineering, and advanced simulation techniques.
