Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking enthusiastic and professional Waiter-Waitress/Barstaff to join our vibrant hospitality team. The ideal candidate will deliver exceptional guest service, ensuring a memorable experience for all patrons. This role involves taking orders, serving food and beverages, and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere in our busy establishment. Previous experience in a pub or hospitality setting is preferred, but a positive attitude and willingness to learn are equally valued.

Duties

Greet guests warmly and provide attentive service throughout their visit
Take accurate food and beverage orders, ensuring timely delivery
Serve drinks at the bar and tables with professionalism and efficiency
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the dining and bar areas
Upsell menu items to maximise sales opportunities
Ensure compliance with food safety standards and hygiene regulations
Assist in food preparation when necessary, supporting kitchen staff as required
Handle cash transactions accurately using the POS system
Respond promptly to guest requests and resolve any issues courteously
Support team members during busy periods to ensure smooth operations

Qualifications

Previous experience in hospitality, restaurant service, or bar work is advantageous but not essential
Knowledge of food safety standards and basic food preparation skills
Strong organisational skills with excellent time management abilities
Good communication skills and a friendly demeanour towards guests
Ability to perform basic maths accurately for billing purposes
Experience with upselling menu items to enhance guest experience and sales
Kitchen or culinary experience is a plus but not mandatory
A proactive approach to guest services with a focus on creating a welcoming environment
