About Us

We are an established specialist law firm based in Slough, providing legal advice and representation to clients in family and employment law.

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Legal Secretary to join our team and provide high-quality secretarial and administrative support to our solicitors.

The Role

This is a full-time position based entirely at our Slough office. You will work closely with our solicitors and wider team, helping to ensure that matters are progressed efficiently and that our clients receive a professional and responsive service.

The role will involve supporting work across family and employment law, so discretion, empathy, professionalism and attention to detail are particularly important.

Key Responsibilities

Providing comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to solicitors.
Preparing, formatting and proofreading legal correspondence and documents.
Managing diaries, appointments, meetings and key deadlines.
Communicating with clients professionally and sensitively by telephone, email and in person.
Opening, maintaining and closing client files.
Maintaining accurate electronic and paper records.
Assist in the preparation of court bundles and other legal documentation.
Liaising with clients, courts, barristers, counsel and other professional contacts.
Monitoring important dates and deadlines.
Assisting with billing and time recording.
Work with the accounts team chasing outstanding invoices.
Filing, scanning, photocopying and general document management.
Assisting with the smooth running of the office.
Maintaining strict confidentiality in relation to clients and their matters.
Providing support to colleagues when required.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

An experienced secretary with previous experience within a law firm.
Highly organised and able to manage a busy workload.
Accurate and meticulous with excellent attention to detail.
Professional and confident when dealing with clients.
Comfortable handling confidential and sensitive information.
Able to prioritise competing demands and meet deadlines.
A good communicator with excellent written and verbal English who is IT literate, including good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook.
Reliable, punctual and well presented, team player who is also capable of working independently.
Proactive and willing to take responsibility for their work.

Desirable

Previous experience in family law and/or employment law.
Experience dealing with court documentation and bundles.
Familiarity with legal case management systems.
Knowledge of relevant legal terminology and procedures.

£27,000–£30,000 salary depending on experience.
