Commercial Electrician

Lumen Electrical Contractors Ltd – Full Time

Pay: £18.68 - £21.32 per hour
Expected Hours: Minimum 40 hours per week
Location: Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire (Local & Occasional National Projects)

Join a Growing Commercial & Industrial Electrical Contractor

Lumen Electrical Contractors is a NICEIC Approved Contractor delivering high-quality electrical installations, maintenance, testing and compliance services across commercial and industrial environments.

Due to continued growth, we are looking for a skilled and motivated Commercial Electrician to join our expanding team.

We work on a wide variety of projects including:

Commercial installations
Industrial electrical works
Distribution board upgrades
Power and lighting installations
EV charging infrastructure
Testing and inspection
Maintenance and remedial works
Periodic inspections and compliance projects

This role is ideal for an electrician who takes pride in their workmanship, enjoys varied projects, and wants to build a long-term career with a professional and forward-thinking company.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out commercial and industrial electrical installations.
Install containment systems including conduit, trunking, tray, basket and cable ladder.
Install and terminate single-phase and three-phase circuits.
Complete testing, inspection and fault-finding activities.
Carry out maintenance and remedial works to a high standard.
Complete job documentation using digital systems.
Ensure all work complies with BS7671, health & safety requirements and company procedures.
Represent the company professionally on customer sites.
Travel to sites across Cambridgeshire and surrounding counties, with occasional nationwide projects.

Essential RequirementsQualifications

NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation.
18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671).
Full UK Driving Licence.

Experience & Skills

Strong experience in commercial electrical installations.
Ability to read electrical drawings and specifications.
Experience installing containment systems and three-phase distribution.
Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong focus on safety, quality and attention to detail.

Desirable (Not Essential)

City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing.
ECS Gold Card.
Experience with EV charger installations.
Experience carrying out EICRs and remedial works.
Experience with solar installations
