Full job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a part time Accounts Assistant to join our finance department. In this vital role, you will support the day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial data management. Your contributions will help maintain smooth financial processes, support reporting activities, and uphold the integrity of our financial records. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your accounting skills within a fast-paced and collaborative environment. Post currently advertised as part time but option for full time hours if required.

*Salary negotiable based on experience*

*Post advertised as 24hrs per week, option to discuss increasing hours if required.

Responsibilities

Manage data entry for accounts payable and receivable transactions using various accounting software platforms such as Sage, Xero.
Assist with processing invoices, expense reports, and payment runs to ensure timely and accurate financial transactions.
Reconcile bank statements and account balances regularly to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
Support month-end and year-end closing procedures by preparing relevant documentation and reports for the company accountant.
Maintain organized records of financial documents, including receipts, invoices, and payment confirmations.
Collaborate with suppliers, and internal teams to resolve billing inquiries efficiently.
Contribute to the implementation and improvement of accounting processes to enhance operational efficiency.

Qualifications

Proven experience with accounting software such as Sage, Xero.
Strong data entry skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
Familiarity with all accounts payable processes.
Payroll or credit control experience would be an advantage but not essential.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Strong communication skills.
