About Us

We are a long-established British precision engineering manufacturer with over 100 years of experience designing and manufacturing high-quality engineered products for customers around the world.

Based in Minworth, Sutton Coldfield, we operate a modern CNC machine shop producing precision-machined components in-house. We pride ourselves on quality, continuous improvement and investing in our people, equipment and manufacturing processes.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced CNC Setter / Operator to join our manufacturing team.

This is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for setting and operating CNC machines to manufacture precision components to the highest quality standards. You will work with a variety of machines and be responsible for producing first-off and production components while ensuring quality and efficiency throughout the manufacturing process.

Key Responsibilities

Set and operate CNC turning and milling machines.
Load and run existing CNC programs.
Set tooling and fixtures for production.
Adjust tool offsets and make minor program edits where required.
Produce first-off components and carry out in-process inspections.
Read and interpret engineering drawings.
Use measuring equipment including micrometres, verniers, bore gauges and gauges.
Ensure components meet drawing specifications and quality standards.
Complete production and quality documentation accurately.
Identify tooling or machining issues and report them to the Engineering or Production team.
Maintain high housekeeping and health & safety standards.
Support continuous improvement activities within the machine shop.

About You

You will have previous experience working as a CNC Setter / Operator within a precision engineering environment and take pride in producing high-quality work.

You should have:

Previous experience setting and operating CNC machines.
Experience with Fanuc, Mazatrol or Mitsubishi control systems.
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
Experience using precision measuring equipment.
Good attention to detail.
A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
A strong commitment to quality and safety.

Desirable Skills

Experience with both CNC turning and milling.
Experience of small to medium batch manufacturing.
Knowledge of first-off inspection procedures.
Experience working within an ISO 9001 manufacturing environment.
Understanding of Lean Manufacturing or 5S principles.
