Building on a proud family tradition, Joseph Walls Ltd has expanded its trusted agricultural merchant services to include a dedicated Walls Homevalue store based in Clough, Co Down. This expansion allows the company to seamlessly service both the rural farming community and the general public with a premium range of DIY, paint, gardening, and homeware essentials.

Summary

Walls Homevalue Store is seeking a friendly, reliable, and customer-focused Customer Service Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, assisting customers with purchases, maintaining store standards, and supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the store.

Responsibilities

Greet and assist customers in a professional and welcoming manner.
Provide product information and recommendations to customers.
Operate the cash register and process payments accurately.
Handle customer queries, complaints, and returns efficiently.
Replenish stock and ensure shelves are fully stocked and well presented.
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe shopping environment.
Assist with stock deliveries and inventory checks.
Support promotional activities and in-store displays.
Follow company policies, procedures, and health & safety guidelines.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve store targets and provide excellent customer experiences.

Requirements Essential

3 years retail experience or similar
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Friendly, positive, and customer-focused attitude.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
Basic numeracy and cash-handling skills.
Flexible approach to working hours.

Desirable

Knowledge of DIY, home improvement, hardware, or homeware products.

Personal Attributes

Reliable and punctual.
Professional appearance and manner.
Enthusiastic and willing to learn.
Ability to remain calm and helpful under pressure.
Strong problem-solving skills.

Hours of Work

Mon - Fri 9am - 5.30pm
Every other Saturday 8am - 1pm
